Degree Portfolio

The universities showcased on the Degree Portfolio website are fake.

Sorry if this comes as a revelation for you, but these institutions of higher learning don’t exist anywhere other than in the mind of their creator. Although the degree parchments are intended to look official with typical academic verbiage, signatures, and an official university logo and academic seal, they are completely fake. Please don’t try using one of these degree parchments to obtain a job…although serious kudos to you if you do and are actually successful.

Despite being fake and fun, they also serve a serious purpose. Their creator currently holds three university degrees but, while a child, teenager and young adult, was convinced that he was not sufficiently intelligent to study at a university and graduate with a degree. Indeed, even an Associate’s Degree seemed an impossible goal that was completely and permanently out of his reach. That flawed mindset lost its grip once he understood the value of the saying “If you want what you’ve never had, you need to do what you’ve never done”. It’s a powerful mantra that dispels any and all self-disbelief when taken seriously and applied to one’s life.

Sometimes a simple experience or encounter can be a powerful motivator. Maybe receiving one of these fake university degree parchments will encourage a struggling highschooler or current university student to stay focused, and continue to strive, toward their graduation goals. There’s no feeling of accomplishment like taking a fake degree off the wall and replacing it with the real thing.
